Burgess Cellars 2002 Estate Grown Zinfandel
Napa Valley
Tasting Notes:
These mountain vineyards produce stressed grapes with intense aromas and generous
flavors. With the addition of 10% petite sirah, this wine has wonderful appeal for its ripe,
complex flavors, supple texture and fine-grained tannins, offering a mix of plum, raspberry
and minty nuances. Big and ripe, finishing witha burst of pepper on the palate

Food Pairing:
The delicious flavor and lingering finish complement most foods, especially barbeque spare
ribs, spicy quesidillas, braised meats and curried meats.

About the Winery:
Burgess Cellars is a stone and redwood mountainside winery which was originally started in
the 1880's. Burgess vineyards and winery represent several very unique concepts. Beginning
with the fact this our winery has been family owned and operated for 30 years. It's adjacent
vineyards support the belief that it is vital to grow only those varieties of grapes which are
best suited to the particular aspects of that land; such as soil, exposure, and climate. The
worldwide reputation of Burgess wines lies in the fact that they are always in perfect
harmony, fully integrated to form a "total impression". Maximum varietal character, firm oak,
good body, and long, complex finish are stressed. These attributes are controlled through
painstaking attention to the estate vineyards and labor intensive old world winemaking
techniques; all brought together with the most modern technology.
