Clos du Bois 2004 Merlot
Sonoma County
Tasting Notes:
This wine displays a soft, ripe berry fruit character that is balanced nicely by the toasty
vanilla oak flavors imparted from the barrels and the soft tannins typical of Merlot.

Food Pairing:
TThe fruit forward flavors of this Merlot complement a wide variety of foods. Try it with a
traditional meatloaf, hearty lamb stew or lasagna with sweet Italian sausage.

About the Winery:
Clos du Bois' (pronounced Clo dew Bwah) winery and estate vineyards are located in
Alexander Valley, in the northern part of the Sonoma County wine region. Here at Clos
du Bois, we try to remember that everything we do is about the wine. Not the winery.
Not the label design. The wine. That's it. Over the years, we find our signature wine
style has developed around the characteristics of the grapes grown in this region,
which are known for round and supple flavors, creating elegant, smooth,
approachable wines.

Clos du Bois wines enjoy a similar reputation. Our wines have a natural affinity with
food, complementing, rather than overwhelming food flavors. Our Estate includes 925
vineyard acres in Alexander Valley. In addition to our Estate vineyards, Clos du Bois
sources grapes from nearly 200 growers in other Sonoma County appellations,
including Dry Creek Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalk Hill, Carneros and Knights
Valley. The strength of our grower relationships ensures a continued supply of high
quality grapes.
