| Kendall Jackson 2005 Vintner's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Notes: A ripe and juicy Cabernet with delicate currant, dark berry and herbal aromas. Black cherry and blackberry flavors fill the mouth and are accented by subtle vanilla, spice and cedar. A long, smooth finish with an herbal, menthol note and modest tannins. Food Pairing: The medium body of this wine pairs well with a variety of grilled meats, hearty pastas and full-flavored cheeses. About the Winery: To find the answers to Kendall-Jackson's success, one must look to the strongly held beliefs and insights of Proprietor, Jess Jackson. In 1974, he found in the vineyards of California's cool coastal regions, fruit with a variety of outstanding flavors. What if there was a way to produce from this abundance, a single outstanding wine that offered both quality and value? The result was Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay, a rich, round and flavorful wine, made with hand-crafted methods, including small oak barrel fermentation and aging, malolactic fermentation and aging on the yeast lees. The first vintage in 1983 was greeted with acclaim from consumers and wine critics alike, and Kendall-Jackson has maintained a consistent high standard of quality ever since, expanding the Vintner's Reserve line to include Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, and Zinfandel. |
