| Monticello Vineyards 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Tasting Notes: This cabernet is luscious, richly textured and elegant. Ready to drink but with great aging potential. Berry, plum and cassis aromatics lead into wine packed with black fruit, cedar, spice, and cocoa with firm tannins that support a long, supple finish. Awards: Best of Class - San Diego Wine Competition Food Pairing: A fantastic Cabernet to pair with beef stews, grilled steak or hearty Mediterranean fare. About the Winery: Twenty-five years ago my father saw the ground where our vineyard now stands and knew of the great potential that lay ahead. He had chosen the site, with its unique micro-climate, because of his passion for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. An old prune orchard was on part of the land; the rest lay fallow. He meticulously planted the vineyard with attention to each detail that has helped make our grapes world class quality. The goal and philosophy of the winemaking is to craft wines of world class quality which reflect the character of the particular grape and also carry the signature of the vineyard. Today we produce premium estate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon in the beautiful Napa Valley. The wines have been rated among the top wines of the world and are available in very limited quantities in finer restaurants & wine shops across the United States. |
