| Palomino Ridge 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting Notes: A typical new world Cabernet with a ruby red color. This wine is lush, ripe and juicy, with intense black cherry, current and blackberry fruit that's smooth and focused. Subtle toasty oak flavors are accented by modest but dry tannins and a hint of spice. A soft and well-rounded wine with a smooth finish. Food Pairing: A great wine on its own or with flank steak, roasted meats or Mediterranean fare. About the Winery: Palomino Ridge wines are a statement of quality, character and value. Our commitment is to create premium wines that reflect traditional winemaking methods and embody the elegant style of the Palomino. These wines are made exclusively for Signature Wines by several seasoned winemakers, from grapes sourced throughout the prime grape-growing regions of California. The vineyards are nestled between the Sacramento River Delta and the Sierra Nevada foothills. The gnarled old vines you pass along the road to the vineyards speak to the history of the region. This area has an unusual climate influenced by cooling breezes off the Sacramento Delta and is fed by two rivers that deposit sandy loam soils-rich in minerals- which give the grapes unique flavors. The combination of warm days and cool nights during ripening provides the grapes with just the right amount of acidity. Our vintners are then able to create the unique blends of Palomino Ridge. |
